  • Scope:

In 2015, our team was commissioned to create precise CAD models of six heritage train stations, including the historic Bellair station in Durban South. The goal was to deliver a comprehensive set of drawings to support immediate remedial work and a precinct upgrade. However, the project was unexpectedly paused for nearly a decade.

By 2024, the station had suffered significant damage and deterioration. We were re-engaged to provide specialized expertise in reconstructing a missing historical element—a copper flèche (spire)—presumed stolen. Using historical drawings and photographs, we carefully developed detailed shop drawings to guide the flèche’s reconstruction.

In a surprising turn, the contractor later discovered the original flèche hidden within the station’s roof, rendering our reconstruction efforts a testament to our precision and dedication to preserving the station’s heritage.
