Role: 3D Modelling, Renders, Design Drawings, Drawings for Costing
Scope:
In 2024, Cape Town-based NGO U-Turn commissioned Container World – a long-standing client and patron of Lead Architects – to develop a safe, transitional space for vulnerable street dwellers (including families) using modular container architecture.
Our role was to translate the Architect’s concept into a fully documented design package, including detailed drawings for costing purposes, as well as 3D visualisations and renders to effectively communicate the designintent to the City of Cape Town and other key stakeholders.
The proposal aims to sensitively integrate with the existing urban fabric while providing a secure and dignified environment. Particular care was taken to ensure the design responds to its architectural context, balancing privacy, permeability, and functionality.
